I haven’t really drawn anything for myself lately. It has been about two months. Life has been consistently focused on building Studio Skye-Tiger, mentoring, putting together other people's projects, managing them, and marketing the company. While all these responsibilities are incredibly important and satisfying in their own way, they have purpose and form the foundation on which Studio Skye-Tiger stands.
However, having not drawn in my sketchbook for myself, letting my creativity and essence flow onto the paper, whether it's for my creative projects or just stream-of-consciousness sketching, has created a bit of disconnect. This realization has hit me hard and it feels as if I’m drifting into the void.
Therefore, I am committing to taking at least a day to reestablish that connection. For me, drawing, creating, and storytelling for myself are vital parts of life. This will be my version of self-care because drawing is as much a part of me as my heart is. I need to put just as much effort into preserving that connection as I do building this company, mentoring, and producing work for others.
It is time to reconnect with what I have loved since I was 5 and embrace the very thing that has brought me here to all of you. Below, I am featuring old sketches that remind me of times when I was in full flow, with almost every artistic arsenal and technique at the ready.

In other news…
Starting soon, I will be posting behind-the-scenes content for Midnight Tiger: EVO Chapter 1. These posts will give a look at the studio's process in creating the book and will be exclusively for paid subscribers. At this point, I am not sure how often I will be posting, either twice a week or four times a week, but it will all lead up to the launch of the Kickstarter.
Throughout the campaign, you can expect a variety of content, including layouts, drawing videos, character designs, and finished pages. Some posts will feature just images, while others will be videos. I am planning to play it by ear, allowing for a spontaneous and creative flow. There will be no particular structure because I want it to be a fun and interactive experience for everyone involved. Stay tuned for more updates!
I like how those sketches get more intricate as you go. As if the looseness shakes the cobwebs and the tightness is the coffee taking hold.
