Morning Paid Subscribers!
Here is where I start posting the regular production updates on the CEX Publishing hardcover edition of Midnight Tiger: Origins for the paid SST Substack subscribers! I'll be keeping these progress posts short and sweet from here on! I may not be sharing every page as we go, but I'll certainly be sharing a LOT of them! LOL!
Let's get the ball rolling. Colors are starting to come in from Pete Pantazis for CEX’s MT3 Hardcover edition! The inked page is the debut of Stone's boss. She's PISSED! She stays at the Villa Riviera in Downtown Long Beach. A historic hotel and very familiar to Southern California natives!
You’ll also notice a stylistic change. Because I now have more freedom in my career and the ability to express myself in comics than I‘ve ever had before I'm fully embracing my love of manga and anime going forward! You see, it’s cheaper, faster, and less Hollywood red tape to make comics that look like animation than it is to get an actual animated series. I’ve ALWAYS seen every IP I create as an animated series in my mind first. I watch the show in my head and then translate it into comics. There’s more to it than that, but simply put, I’m going to be turning the animated shows in my head as comics. I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire career working on this and know that it’s created from a place of pure love. Love for anime & comics! Dreamwave Productions did just that in the 90’s very well, but that’s a story for another time, kids!
Enjoy!
