Midnight Tiger #3 Is Officially Completed!

 That's A Wrap!

Script. Pencils. Inks. Colors. Letters. Done. DONE! 

As we speak the post production team at CEX Publishing are putting the book hardcover together and getting it ready to go to the printer. Once the final file is printer ready the PDF files will be going out to backers of both the CEX Midnight Tiger: Origins KS and core digital KS backers. From February through March I'll be working on the physical rewards for both campaigns. Other than the commissions, the original page rewards are set and ready to go.

9 Years In The Making

Midnight Tiger #2 was released in late 2014 and although MT has appeared in other comics several times since then, the initial 4-Issue run was halted there.  So, this is pretty momentous for me to not only come back and complete the original first volume, but be relaunched as the ongoing series it was always meant to be. The very first Midnight Tiger issue debuted here on Kickstarter in 2012 and was entirely self-published until 2014. Funny how it's all come full-circle. The Kickstarter backers are the O.G. Midnight Tiger fans and none of this would have been possible without them.

No More Digital Only

That's right. From here on out Studio Skye-Tiger books GO TO PRINT! All books will start as a webcomic on Patreon and upon completion move to Kickstarter to get the books funded for printing.

Completed Books Or No Kickstarter Launch

Another rule going forward as I launch Studio Skye-Tiger as a publisher on both Kickstarter and Patreon is that no book launches until all the black & white interior art and lettering are 100% completed. It can be extremely daunting to put together a creative team and try to keep the schedules running and coordinated in addition to creating a reasonable project budget. As the writer/artist I'm fortunate enough to be able to eliminate most of that. Studio Skye-Tiger projects will only need a colorist on the creative team and sometimes not even that. Just printing, shipping, and distribution costs will be the main goal for Kickstarters.

30-Page Minimum Comics

Studio Skye-Tiger comics will be at least 30 pages. 20-page main stories and a 10-page bonus story. That's not counting concept art and behind the scenes material.

That Said...

An update on the Midnight Tiger Issue #3 Digital Copy should be coming up fairly soon after it's all been approved. If you backed the CEX hardcover campaign I'm sure you'll be getting the updates on the printed version soon as well. I'm looking forward to having the book in my hand and placing it on my bookshelf! I'll also have some copies with me at conventions. My next convention is Emerald City Comic Con at the end of February, but I highly doubt the book will be back from the printers that fast. However, if you're there, I will have quite a few somethings at my table to buy!

May 2024 is when Midnight Tiger: EVO #1 aka Midnight Tiger #1 Vol. 2 is scheduled to launch. No other publisher's Kickstarter and no middlemen. I'm running the show 100% now. The last six months I’ve had to use absolutely every skill I’ve learned from the entirety of my experience making comics. I even picked up some new ones! Like a masterclass creating comics from start to finish I’ve never been more prepared to self-publish than right now. So, let’s do this! Just me, you, and the other Midnight Tiger fans right here at Studio Skye-Tiger!
